Red, White, and Blue DIY Festive Chunky Bead Necklaces

Are you ready to celebrate the Fourth of July?! We are! It's one of our most favorite holidays at our house and we love dressing up for it too! Last year we made these fun little DIY Red, White, and Blue Patriotic Apron Skirts here. And we still love them! I especially love the one that I made from a neckerchief. In fact, I've been working on a tablecloth/picnic spread blanket out of checkered patriotic neckerchiefs lately as well. I wanted to share these fun red, white, and blue festive bead necklaces we made for the big day! They were so easy and fun to make too!

I love how they are all different and unique to each girl.

We started out by going to the store and buying some red, white, and blue beads. We took them home and then we started with each of the girls having their own platter to put the beads on, so they wouldn't roll off the table. Then the girls started making their own patterns and laying out the beads the way they wanted them to go on the necklaces.

An easy little hack to help you when laying out your patterns, is to take some washi tape and run it upside down the length of the platter. This way, as you make your pattern, the beads stick to the tape and stay in place,'s not too sticky.

Everyone loved the way theirs came out. (I helped change them up a bit too as we threaded them on.)
For this one, we used ribbon in the back attached to some rings on the sides.

This next one has a little tiny bottle of "pixie dust"/glitter (as she calls it) attached to the center.
So fun!

I love how my oldest daughter wanted hers to be different, and it even looks like a necklace for someone a bit older. She wanted the little medallion on it and we are going to personalize it for her.

Everyone was all smiles when they had the finished product on. And that's what mattered most!

So bring on the fireworks! We're ready!
